The Uniden BC72XLT is an easy to use handheld scanner that monitors fire, police, weather, ham radios and more.  You can stay informed no matter where you are at.

This is a scanner that has been available for quite awhile since this became available for purchase - that should tell you how popular this scanner is. This has been for sale online for more than 10 years.

Who is going to want the BX72XLT? The same person that can appreciate a well lit display for easy reading, big squelch and volume knobs, a responsive keypad jack and a 6V DC jack.

Lets talk about the special features. This Uniden scanner has something called "Close Call" Radio Frequency Technology. This is a fancy expression for a system that detects and displays nearby strong radio transmission frequency. This saves you the hassle of having to manually search for the strongest nearby signal. A related but different feature is the ability to do a chained search. This lets you search through a preset frequency range to find the right channel. Think of it this way. Close call helps you find the strongest signal when you are in a new or unknown environment while the chain search is designed to search through familiar frequencies. Great to have both of these searching capabilities in one scanner.

For the BC72XLT scanner you have the ability to set a priority channel. This allows you to search through other channels and not miss important transmissions from specific channels. The designated priority channel get scanned every two seconds. If you don't set a priority channel and have the priority feature turned on, then the first channel in each of the ten banks is designated as the priority channel.

This scanner model is, in a word, "robust". There are 100 channels spread out of 10 banks, the ability to preprogram six service searches, scanning for police, fire, weather, business, utilities, marine, ham radio and more. It is a lightweight scanner weighing slightly more than one pound, 1.15 lbs. Fits easily into your hands and draws power from just two AA batteries.

Buy this scanner now and included is an AC adapter, antenna, belt clip, frequency guide and user's manual.
