One feature that you will like is the one handed knife access. You will be presently surprised at what you get for the cost. This is something you would typically find on a much more expensive multi-tool. Along the same lines is the spring loaded pliers. Both of these features make using the Leatherman Wingman an easy tool to use. Think of this situation ... what if you are out hiking in the Utah desert by yourself and you are checking out slot canyons. You are in a particular tight canyon squeezing between two huge boulders. You hear a rumble. Next think you know a large rocky falls from just above you and falls down and pins your hand between the two large boulders. What do you do? In this situation, you pull out your handy Wingman open the knife with your one available hand and start chipping away. If all goes well, the rock crumbles and you are free. Don't think this can't happen to you, ask Aron Ralston about this type of situation.

Try this one on for style. Say you are out on a date. Instead of the regular dinner and a movie, you and your special date are out on a hike. The conversation is flowing, things are going well, when all of the sudden, you trip on a rock and quickly hit the ground. You don't feel good. You have scrapped up your knee and elbow. Fortunately for you, not only is your date attractive but smart. Out of your date's backpack comes the first aid kit. The gauze bandages are brought out, your cuts are cleaned out, and here comes the Leatherman. Your date uses the Leatherman's handy scissors to cut the perfect size bandages to cover up your cuts. A few minutes later, your back on the trail and there is a little bit more of a connection between the two of you.

Should I continue. OK. You are out for a mountain bike ride descending down a steep rocky trail. The shocks on your bike are doing a good job, however this is a very rough trail. You hear a "clang" and from the corner of your eye you see your water bottle and water bottle cage going flying off the bike. You squeeze the brakes hard and come to a stop quickly. You hike back up the trail and grab the dislodged equipment. Back to the bike and you find the screws that are part of the water bottle cage. Fortunately you have your Leatherman. Even though you don't have an Allen wrench, the pliers will do in a pinch. You twist the screws until the cage is back on tight as a drum. The Leatherman Wingman saves the day ... again.

There you have it, a multi-tool that saves day - whether you are on a date, hiking in the desert or mountain biking.
