The Fexin is one of the newest high sensitivity GPS watches from Garmin.  Yes, it tells time and that’s not all.

The watch has been out for a little while now and can be purchased online at places like Amazon.

This is the perfect companion for the outdoor person who routinely hikes in the back country and wants the ability mark up to a thousand waypoints and ten thousand track points for future reference.

Weighing in at a light 2.9 ounces and measuring just 1.9 by 1.9 by 0.7 inches, this is not your bulky square GPS that you might be familiar with from Garmin (think back to the days for the Garmin 310 for instance). No, this is a heavy duty black watch with a circular front that looks and feels like a regular watch, except with the GPS capability. It uses 1 litium ion battery that is included. All the route information you collect on your Garmin Fenix GPS can be wirelessly shared with your smartphone and other Garmin GPS products.

Additionally, this GPS unit tracks altimeter, displays barometric pressure and has a 3-axis compass that calibrates automatically. Since this does not use a charger, you likely will not experience the problems I had on an older Garmin where the contacts from the GPS to the charger became slightly corroded over time (I think the sweat from working out) and would not allow the GPS to properly charge up. Consider this a major bonus for the Garmin Fenix.

Ideal for the outdoor enthusiast who wants to be able to provide breadcrumb trail of their activities, the Fenix is a GPS to consider.
